5 MAIN ACTIONS TO IMPROVE THE DESIGN

The previous design didn't quite flow very well from the hall to the new building. Therefore, I hope to create more connection not only from the back of the hall but from the side as well. Hence, people from the hall can go into the restaurant more easily.

The previous design have spaces that are not connected logically. It would be better to organize them into groups and have one spaces that connects them all. Besides, there is a need to add a kitchen workshop on the ground floor too as a way to complete the food process experience.

Thirdly, the form of the building is widely used and easily imitated. Therefore, I hope to bring in a different approach to this typical shape by experimenting on the window openings as well as the overhangs of the roof. As a result, this might also create interesting lighting and visual experience to the users.

Initially, the restaurant is located underground. People can hardly see the activity of it unless they enter the building. Therefore, I feel like spilling the atmosphere of the dining to the outdoors so the liveliness of it will be more visible, creating a more convivial and vibrant space.

Lastly, I realize the only dining experience I have in my previous building were the long tables and not enough private seating spaces. Therefore, I feel like creating more spaces for bar stands and individual tables. This will help cater different needs of the people who use the space.
